Perth Pulse; April Market Update

Data from reiwa.com shows the month of May is looking positive despite a record low of property listings in April (across Perth), which felt the negative impacts of COVID-19.

A couple of weeks into May and the number of transactions for properties being sold already exceeds the total number for April 2020 by two per cent.

In particular, house sales are already nine per cent higher. This is certainly good news for the sales market as sellers can see that buyers have the confidence to enter contracts.

With leasing, the number of new leases for May also exceeds the total number of leases in April by 12 per cent. Combined with a continuing decline in the number of properties available for lease, landlords will not be expecting any decrease in rents.
